The Company aims to provide the global market with responsibly mined manganese ore that can be used as a replacement for cobalt in lithium-ion batteries for use in the EV sector. This is viewed as a step towards reduction of greenhouse gas emissions associated with the use of non-renewable energy in vehicles, and the consequential adverse effects on climate change.
Keras intends to conduct its activities in an environmentally sustainable manner, with the aim of ensuring the benefits of producing manganese do not have adverse effects on natural resources or biodiversity in the region.
Furthermore, the Company is committed to the socio-economic development of its area of operation. Continued investment in community projects include advancing the supply of clean water to both the community and their livestock adjacent to the 6km water pipeline feeding the scrubber plant.
